In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), we teach our patients the importance of keeping your womb warm when trying to conceive, while you are in your period and when you are pregnant. Can you take a guess as to why? Cold stagnates and impedes circulation. Our wombs require free flow of fluids, blood, qi and emotions. If any of these things are not able to move, we can experience symptoms of pain, clotting, heavy periods, missing or irregular cycles. We can help our wombs stay warm with the foods we eat, acupuncture, moxa, and keeping certain parts of our bodies warm at all times, like our feet!
Red light therapy helps regulate hormones, which helps with more regular menstrual cycles and regular ovulation, improving the egg quality and lining development. It improves the blood supply to the reproductive organs to optimize egg health, both quantity and quality. It is also beneficial for men’s fertility, as it improves sperm, both quality and quantity. Danish and Norwegian studies have shown that light therapy had a pregnancy rate of 66% success for women after at least 4 years of failure with other ART methods. The research also shows that raising the quality of the male partners semen, most notably motility.
